MODULAR GRANT APPLICATION AND AWARD PROCEDURES - NOT APPLICABLE TO AHCPR Release Date: June 7, 1999 P. T. Agency for Health Care Policy and Research The Agency for Health Care Policy and Research (AHCPR) informs the research community that it is currently not using the Modular Grant Application and Award. Applicants for funding from AHCPR should ignore application instructions concerning the modular grant application and award, and prepare applications according to instructions provided in the PHS Grant Application form 398 (revised 4/98). The modular grant application and award are streamlining initiatives intended to focus investigators, their respective institutions, peer reviewers, and agency staff on the proposed research rather than on the details of budgets. Prior to instituting these application procedures, AHCPR will pilot test the procedures and receive input from AHCPR- sponsored investigators, members of peer review groups, and AHCPR staff. AHCPR is studying the potential benefits of modular grant application and award and will announce, through a Notice in the NIH Guide, the final decision concerning their use. Ample advance notice will be provided prior to implementation of any change in procedure.
