MEDICATION DISCOVERY USING RAT MODELS OF RELAPSE TO COCAINE SELF-ADMINISTRATION Release Date: April 27, 1999 RFP AVAILABLE: N01DA-9-8096 P.T. National Institute on Drug Abuse Under the upcoming solicitation, The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) is soliciting proposals from qualified organizations having the in-house capability to perform in vivo rodent behavioral pharmacology studies of potential pharmacotherapies for cocaine dependence using a cocaine self-administration reinstatement model. The Contractor will be blinded to the identity of proprietary test compounds, the compounds will be evaluated in established assays, and the resulting data will be utilized by the NIDA Medications Development Division. The successful offeror must indicate possession of current DEA registration for Schedules II-V substances prior to award and apply for Schedule I registration. NIDA anticipates awarding a four-year contract with optional quantities. RFP No. N01DA-9-8096 will be available electronically on or about May 6, 1999, and may be accessed through the Internet at the following address: (URL: http://www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html). All information required for the submission of an offer will be contained in the electronic RFP package. Response to the RFP will be due on or about June 21, 1999.
