INACTIVATION: SELECTED NIDCD PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT Release Date: November 27, 1998 P.T. National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders The National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) is inactivating its sponsorship of Program Announcement PA-97-087, "Hearing Aid Improvement Program." This PA sought research applications from multidisciplinary teams to support research needed to transfer federally developed technology to hearing aids. Because this PA had set-aside funds, and those funds have been expended, this PA is withdrawn, effectively immediately. NIDCD regularly reviews its portfolio of active PAs. When the objectives of PAs have been attained, NIDCD announces inactivation of those PAs. NIDCD supports highly scientifically meritorious applications in all areas of research within its mission, including the scientific areas delineated in this PA. PA inactivation simply means that applications will be accepted, reviewed, and considered for funding with all other investigator-initiated applications. The PA being inactivated is: PA-97-087: Hearing Aid Improvement Program, NIH Guide, August 1, 1997 INQUIRIES For questions or further information, contact: Amy M.
