The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and

the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) of

the National Institutes of Health (NIH) announce the following

modifications to RFA AI-95-007 which was published in the NIH Guide,

Vol. 24, No. 4, February 3, 1995.



ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS



The second paragraph in this section of the RFA is replaced with the

following:



Applicants may apply as an Asthma Study Center or as the Central Data

Coordinating Center or both.  Two separate applications will be

required from institutions applying for both.



FUNDS AVAILABLE



Based on the above modification to eligibility requirements, the

following clarification concerning budget requests is provided:



Applications for Asthma Study Centers should not request first-year

budgets in excess of $280,000 in total (direct and indirect) costs.

Applications for the Central Data Coordinating Center should not

request first-year budgets in excess of $300,000 in total (direct and

indirect costs).



SCHEDULE



The Application Receipt Date is extended from June 15, 1995 to July

18, 1995.
