FOGARTY INTERNATIONAL RESEARCH COLLABORATION AWARD Release Date: March 5, 2001 NOTICE: NOT-TW-01-002 Fogarty International Center This is an addendum to program announcement (PA) PAR 99-008 for the Fogarty International Research Collaboration Award (FIRCA), last issed October 30, 1998. Please note that the application deadline is a receipt date and not a postmark date. All FIRCA applications must now be received at NIH by the deadline listed on the program announcement. In addition, the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) is interested in co-funding FIRCAs which are relevant to its mission and which are within the payline as determined by the FIC. Through the use of the FIRCA grant mechanism, the FIC and the NIEHS wish to develop collaborative programs between established environmental health researchers and investigators in developing countries with access to unique research opportunities. This includes both laboratory and population-based studies on the effects of exposures to pollutants in air, water, food and through occupation; as well as studies of susceptibility factors due to genetics, age or nutritional status.
