On June 17, 2003 and July 22, 2004 , the National Center for Research Resources (NCRR), National Institutes of Health (NIH), announced limited competitions to inform the scientific community of Requests for Applications (RFAs) for the IDeA Networks of Biomedical Research Excellence (INBRE) program.

This notice is to inform the scientific community that the NIH is amending one of the overarching objectives of these RFAs. O bjective 4) as stated in this RFA, is to provide outreach activities to students at undergraduate institutions, community colleges and tribal colleges participating in the state's network . This objective is amended to read: 4) provide outreach activities to students at undergraduate institutions, community colleges, tribal colleges and K-12 institutions participating in the state's network .

No additional funds will be provided to support this activity. Those grantees who have an interest in expanding outreach activities to K-12 institutions may rebudget funds available in the Outreach Cores of these INBRE Networks to accomplish this activity.
