Update to AHRQ Administrative and Program Expansion Grant Supplement Policy
Notice Number: NOT-HS-09-001
Key Dates
Release Date: November 20, 2008
Issued by
Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), (http://www.ahrq.gov/)
The purpose of this notice is to inform the grantee community that AHRQ will maintain the policy on grant supplements announced in 2008 (see
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-HS-08-009.html). AHRQ has previously described two types of grant supplemental funding for research grants, administrative supplements and program expansion supplements (see
http://grants1.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-HS-04-022.html and
http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-HS-04-025.html).
AHRQ will continue its policy that requests for program expansion supplements, including minority supplements, will not be considered for funding. AHRQ will consider requests for administrative supplements, which are requests for funds to cover unanticipated expenses that fall within the original scope of the approved grant. However, grantees may only request such administrative supplemental funding when it is absolutely necessary for the grant to be able to continue its activities. Supplemental funding requests will not be considered for any grant that is in a no cost extension year.
