AHRQ Support for Dissertation Research Grants (R36): Transition to the SF424 (R&R) Form and Electronic Submission through Grants.gov

The purpose of this notice is to provide information on the requirement for grant applicants seeking Agency for Healthcare Quality and Research (AHRQ) support for Dissertation Research Grants (R36) to submit their applications online to AHRQ through Grants.gov (http://www.grants.gov/) using the SF424 Research and Related (R&R) application. AHRQ announced its initial Agency transition plans in http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-HS-06-003.html.

AHRQ continues to recognize the value of supporting health services research dissertation grants that contribute to the Agency's mission to improve the quality, safety, efficiency, and effectiveness of health care for all Americans. AHRQ expects the AHRQ Dissertation Research Grant Program (R36) funding opportunity announcement to be available in Grants.gov "Apply" soon, and a revision to the current announcement (http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PAR-04-039.html) will be published in the NIH Guide for Grants and Contracts in the near future.

Beginning in 2006, new submission dates will be in effect for dissertation applications. Submission dates will be April 10, August 10, and December 10 annually. The first application submission date for 2006 will be April 10, 2006 .

Applicants are encouraged to prepare themselves now to participate in electronic submission through Grants.gov .
