Purpose
On May 9, 2012, the NHLBI issued a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), RFA-HL-13-019 "Mentored Career Development Award to Promote Faculty Diversity/Re-Entry in Biomedical Research (K01)".
The following correction to this FOA is being made:
Part 2. Section III. Eligibility Information, 1. Eligible Applicants, Eligible Individuals (Program Director/Principal Investigator)
The following paragraph pertains to re-entry candidates and is being moved from 'Additional Information for All Candidates' to 'For Applications from Re-Entry Candidates'.
Current Language under 'Additional Information for All Candidates' that should be deleted:
The program is not intended to support additional graduate training and is not intended to support career changes from non-research to research careers for individuals without prior research training. Generally, at the time of application, a candidate should not be engaged in full-time paid research activities.
New Language under 'For Applications from Re-Entry Candidates' that should be added:
The program is not intended to support additional graduate training and is not intended to support career changes from non-research to research careers for individuals without prior research training.
