PRE-APPLICATION MEETING FOR THE RFA ON CENTERS FOR POPULATION HEALTH AND HEALTH DISPARITIES Release Date: May 28, 2002 NOTICE: NOT-ES-02-010 National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (http://www.niehs.nih.gov/) National Cancer Institute (http://www.cancer.gov/) National Institute on Aging (http://www.nia.nih.gov/) Application Receipt Date: August 29, 2002 The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the National Institute on Aging (NIA) will hold a pre-application informational meeting for investigators planning to submit applications in response to Request for Applications RFA-ES-02-009, "Centers for Population Health and Health Disparities." This public meeting will provide prospective applicants with an opportunity to receive answers to their questions about the RFA. Representatives from the following offices will be available to answer questions relevant to applications responding to the RFA: Chemical Exposures and Molecular Biology Branch (CEMBB), NIEHS, Division of Cancer Control & Populations Sciences (DCCPS), Behavioral Research Program, NCI, Behavioral and Social Research Program, NIA, Grants Management Branch, NIEHS, Grants Administration Branch, NCI, Scientific Review Branch, NIEHS, and the Special Review and Resources Branch, NCI. Staff will be available to discuss the intent and requirements of the RFA. Potential applicants to the RFA are not required to attend the pre-application meeting. A written transcript of the meeting will be posted at http://dccps.nci.nih.gov/communicationcenters/index.html as a public document as soon as possible after the meeting, to provide applicants unable to attend the meeting with access to the proceedings. All applicants are strongly encouraged to discuss their applications with Drs. Frederick L. Tyson (NIEHS), Suzanne Heurtin-Roberts (NCI) or Ms. Georgeanne Patmios (NIA) as early as possible in the process. Potential applicants can participate in the meeting in one of the following three ways: attendance, through a web cast or via email. This meeting is open to the public.
