NATIONAL DIABETES EDUCATION PROGRAM: RFP AVAILABLE Release Date: February 16, 2001 NOTICE: NOT-DK-01-009 National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases The National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) is seeking an organization to perform the services required to assist in the planning and implementation of activities for the National Diabetes Education Program (NDEP), a program co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The NIDDK requires expertise utilizing state-of-the art social marketing and dissemination techniques in transmitting health messages based on the results of the Diabetes Control and Complications Trial (DCCT), a 10 year clinical trial that provided a strong scientific basis for treatment regimes to prevent serious complications of diabetes. In addition, a large clinical trial designed to test whether one or more interventions can prevent or delay the onset of type 2 diabetes in persons at increased risk for developing the disease is expected to be concluded in 2002. The NIDDK also requires expertise in publicizing and promoting other treatment, intervention and prevention programs related to diabetes to the public. This acquisition is 100% set-aside for small business concerns. Size Standard 5.0 million dollars, North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 561110.
