RESEARCH OBJECTIVES

The National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) is 
interested in establishing an International Research Registry Network for 
Sjögren's syndrome.  As part of this, the NIDCR plans to issue a Broad Agency 
Announcement (BAA) that will include the following technical objectives: A) to 
design and implement an International Research Registry Network for Sjögren's 
syndrome; and B) to establish a set of standardized diagnostic criteria for 
the recruitment of Sjögren's syndrome patients; and C) to collect, process, 
store, ship and analyze clinical information and biological specimens from 
patients and families with Sjögren's syndrome; and D) to disseminate to 
researchers clinical information and biological specimens from patients with 
Sjögren's syndrome.  It is expected that proposals with a wide variety of 
technical and scientific approaches will be submitted.  

This is not a request for proposals.  It is anticipated that the BAA-DR-03-01 
will be available at http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/funding/index.htm on or about

reimbursement, completion type contract will be awarded for a period of five
