The NIDCD announces re-opening for new applications for NIDCD P30 Research Core Centers.  (This Notice supersedes NOT-DC-04-001 and NOT-DC-06-001.)  For 2008 and subsequent years, new applications will be accepted only once a year for the January 25 standard receipt date for Centers.  Applications for renewals of existing NIDCD P30 grants, resubmissions, and revisions will continue to be accepted at all three standard receipt dates each year.
 
The P30 is an institutional award, made in the name of a principal investigator, to support centralized resources and facilities shared by investigators with existing funded R01 research projects in NIDCD mission areas.  The overall goal of a Core Center is to promote cooperative interactions that will enrich the effectiveness of ongoing research and/or promote new research directions.  Applicants also are encouraged to consider a specific component to promote translational research in the areas of deafness and other communication disorders (see NOT-DC-05-001).  Application is made using the Guidelines for NIDCD Research Core Centers (P30) from the NIDCD website:
