Purpose

The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) intends to solicit proposals from qualified businesses or organization (NAICS Code 541711) with capabilities to perform in vitro receptor binding assays on a wide variety of receptor targets, and perform follow-up binding and functional assays using appropriate in vitro biological systems. In addition, an interested organization should have the capacity to perform in vitro predictive toxicology assays. The objective is to provide NIDA preclinical discovery programs with a way to screen compounds using a battery of sites that may be alternative mechanisms of action of candidate compounds, or predictive of toxicology. This will facilitate the discovery of novel structural ligands for specified biological targets in the search for medications for the treatment of drug dependence disorders.
