Further, research on the treatment of opioid dependence, abuse and addiction in pain patients will be encouraged. The RFA will be designed to encourage a broad range of research including behavioral, neuroscience, genetics, developmental neuroscience, treatment development, epidemiology, prevention and services research, and will include both animal and human studies.
