COMPOUND IDENTIFICATION AND OPERATION SUPPORT RELEASE DATE: April 15, 2004 NOTICE: NOT-DA-04-026 PRESOLICITATION NO.: N01DA-4-8850 National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) (http://www.nida.nih.gov/) The National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) plans to solicit proposals from qualified organizations having in-house capability to support the operations of the Cocaine Treatment Discovery Program (CTDP) by performing compound identification and evaluation. In order to facilitate the development of pharmacotherapies for cocaine and methamphetamine dependence, the NIDA CTDP requires the identification and scientific evaluation of the merits of selected novel synthetic compounds as potential treatment entities for cocaine and methamphetamine dependence. It is envisioned that compound sources will be found in pharmaceutical company, commercial, academic, as well as other federal laboratory scientific literature. In addition, the contractor may be asked to provide additional searches and reports from the scientific literature based on other compounds identified. The goal of the effort will be to encourage the rapid and efficient study of various classes of compounds for development as potential pharmacotherapies for drug abuse. It is estimated that a three year incrementally funded level of effort type contract will result from this procurement with options for two extra years and additional quantities. RFP No. N01DA-4-8850 will be available electronically on or about April 28, 2004. You can access the RFP through the FedBizOpps (URL: http://www.fedbizopps.gov or through the NIDA website at the following address: (URL: http://www.nida.nih.gov/RFP/RFPList.html). Please note that the RFP for this acquisition will be streamlined to include only the Work Statement, Deliverables, Reporting Requirements, Special Requirements, Technical Evaluation Criteria, and other necessary Proposal Preparation Instructions. All information required for the submission of an offer will be contained in or accessible through the streamlined electronic RFP package. Response to the RFP will be due on or about June 14, 2004.
