COOPERATIVE CLINICAL TRIALS IN ORGAN AND TISSUE TRANSPLANTATION - PUBLIC COMMENT (COMMENT PERIOD OPEN UNTIL AUGUST 11, 2003) RELEASE DATE: July 14, 2003 NOTICE: NOT-AI-03-048 National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) (http://www.niaid.nih.gov) CATALOGUE OF FEDERAL DOMESTIC ASSISTANCE NUMBERS: No. 93.855, Immunology, Allergy, and Transplantation Research The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) will be issuing an Request for Applications (RFA) to support a clinical studies program on immune-mediated pathologic processes in organ transplantation. The purpose of this RFA will be to support a cooperative, multi-site consortium for clinical trials and/or observational studies to improve our understanding of and ultimately reduce the immune-mediated morbidity and mortality of organ transplantation. These studies will be carried out in pediatric and adult recipients of whole organ or tissue transplants. A draft of the RFA has been prepared for public comment. NIAID invites institutions, organizations, and individuals to comment on the draft so that the final RFA can reflect issues of import to the community.
