National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA)
The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism intends
to promote a new initiative by publishing a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA)
to solicit applications to support infrastructure needed to ensure the receipt,
DNA extraction and quality control, genotyping ancestry informative markers,
storage and distribution to a sequencing laboratory of high-quality DNA
collected in the NIAAA National Epidemiologic Survey on Alcohol and Related
Conditions-III (NESARC-III).
This Notice is being provided to allow potential applicants sufficient time to
develop meaningful collaborations and responsive projects.
The FOA is expected to be published in early spring of 2011 with an expected
receipt date in late spring of 2011.
This FOA will utilize the U24 activity code. Details of the planned Funding
Opportunity Announcement (FOA) are provided below.
This Notice encourages investigators with expertise and
insights into this area of science to begin to consider applying for this new FOA.
Among the areas of scientific expertise required by the Repository is
