The 10th Annual NIH SBIR/STTR Conference to be held July 22-23 in Atlanta, GA

February 28 , 2008

General information, agenda, and registration information for the 10th Annual NIH SBIR/STTR Conference have now been posted. Scheduled for July 22-23, 2008, in Atlanta, Georgia, the conference will highlight 25 years of SBIR successes.  A scientific poster session will also be featured to help foster collaborations and partnerships.


PHS 2008-2 Omnibus Solicitation for SBIR/STTR Grants Now Available

January 25, 2008

The PHS 2008-2 Omnibus Solicitation of the NIH, CDC and FDA for SBIR/STTR Grant Applications and SF 424 (R&R) Application Guide for SBIR/STTR Grant Applications are now available. The solicitation consists of: (1) a parent funding opportunity announcement (FOA) for SBIR, (2) a parent FOA for STTR, and (3) narrative descriptions of the programs and research topics (in PDF and MS Word formats). The due dates for CY 2008 are April 5, August 5, and December 5. AIDS and AIDS-related applications are due May 7, September 7, 2008, and January 7, 2009.

2008 NIH Regional Seminars on Program Funding and Grants Administration:  Space Limited

Registration for the 2008 NIH Regional Seminars is now open (NOT-OD-07-076).

The seminars provide a unique opportunity to interact with key NIH experts in extramural program funding and grants administration and cover topics ranging from opportunity identification and application preparation through post award administration. Presentations are targeted towards research administrators, new and experienced investigators, post docs and trainees. Here’s your opportunity to meet experts from the NIH SBIR/STTR program, Division of Grants Policy, Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare, Office of Human Subject Protections, Program Officers from several different NIH Institutes, Grants Management Officers, and so many others – including a team of experts who will be available to answer your specific Commons and electronic submission questions at the eRA booth.

In addition to the two-day seminars, you also have the opportunity to register for an additional day of eRA Workshops in the following areas:

  • eRA Commons Administration Basics (targeted for Account Administrators)
  • eRA Commons Status for Administrators
  • xTrain (targeted for Administrators and Program Directors of training grants)
  • eRA Commons for Principal Investigators and their Delegates

NIH Announces Manufacturing Assistance Program (MAP) for its Phase II SBIR Awardees

Janurary 7, 2008

NIH announces the availability of a Manufacturing Assistance Program (MAP) for its SBIR Phase II awardees from 2003 to the present. This new program is designed to help SBIR awardees identify, address, and develop a strategy to overcome the manufacturing issues related to the commercialization of their SBIR-developed products. (NOTE: This program is not available to STTR awardees.) Applications are accepted through 5:00 p.m. PDT, February 14, 2008, however, if you’re interested, act quickly as the first 30 applications received will be considered for the 25 slots that are available. Review the NIH Guide Notice NOT-OD-08-025 for the program’s full description and the application form.


Last Minute December 5 Submission Tips Now Available
